Great Aunt Carma's Chocolate Chip Cookies

This is a recipe that the family handed out (along with a cookie) at Aunt Carma's funeral - I kid you not.

2 - 4 oz. hershey's candy bars or lg. 7 oz. bar - grated
2 cups chocolate chips
1 lb. butter softened
1 cup oatmeal - ground finely
2 cups white sugar
2 cups brown sugar
4 lg. eggs
6 cups flour
2 tsp. baking powder
2 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. salt
2 cups chopped nuts (she uses pecans, we prefer walnuts)

Blend wet ingredients together, then dry. Then add grated chocolate bar, oatmeal, nuts, and chips. Bake in ungreased cookie sheets 350 for 14 min. for soft cookies, longer for crispy. Makes approx. 12 dozen cookies. For uniform cookies use small scoop.
